Stibo Software Group, headquartered in Denmark, is a global leader in master data management (Stibo Systems) and media enterprise platforms (Stibo DX), with operations spanning Europe, the USA, Latin America, Australia and Asia.
With such a broad international presence, Stibo engaged Simply Sustainable to conduct a legal horizon scan to enhance its understanding of the regulatory landscape across the jurisdictions in which it operates.
The impacts and benefits
Clear overview of legislative requirements: the horizon scan provided Stibo Software Group with a consolidated understanding of existing and emerging sustainability regulations across its priority regions, helping it navigate a complex global landscape.
Increased confidence in compliance: by identifying relevant obligations and upcoming changes, the review gave Stibo assurance that it is meeting current requirements and preparing effectively for future regulatory developments.
Improved internal coordination: the insights highlighted where internal conversations and knowledge-sharing are needed, helping ensure that teams across markets are informed, aligned and equipped to respond consistently to legislative demands.
We’re very pleased with the process and outcome of the legal horizon scan that Simply Sustainable conducted. The results ensure that we are fully up to date with our compliance obligations and can decide what actions need to be taken in the short and longer term.”Paul van LennepChief Sustainability Officer, Stibo Software Group
The story
Simply Sustainable conducted a systematic and targeted review of relevant sustainability-related legislation. The analysis covered Poland, Germany and the state of Georgia (US) and assessed legislation relating to greenhouse gas emissions and energy management, employee working conditions, business ethics and non-financial reporting.
By including both existing and incoming legislation, the outcome helped Stibo ensure compliance as well as anticipate future requirements.
The findings were presented in a comprehensive report that laid out the relevant legislation, described the implications for Stibo and provided recommendations for ensuring compliance. The results were discussed with the relevant internal stakeholders at Stibo and shared with country and office managers to ensure the findings are used effectively.
