Role Overview: 

As a Consultant you will be contributing to or leading a broad range of projects for our clients within one of our three areas of focus:    

• ESG and Sustainability Strategy: Double materiality assessment, Sustainability strategy creation, EU ESG compliance (CSRD, CSDDD), supply chain due diligence, social impact. 

• Risk, Reporting and Communications: Climate risk management (TCFD), Sustainability reporting, Sustainability communications, UK ESG compliance (CFD, ESOS, SECR).  

• Climate and Carbon: Analysing complex data sets and calculating scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions in line with the GHG Protocol,  Carbon footprint calculations, Net-zero strategies, Transition planning, UK ESG compliance (CFD, ESOS, SECR).

Through this role, you will be seen internally and externally as a subject matter expert in one of the areas of focus. If you have a specialist area, this will be fostered and encouraged through training and the ability for you to win your own work and develop your specialism further. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• You are responsible for delivering best-practice support for client projects including expert, practical sustainability consultancy services at the company’s required standards.

• You will use your excellent research and analytical skills for evaluating a wide range of sustainability information and data; producing professionally written reports and presenting the results with recommendations to clients, ensuring these are within budget and deliver on, and where possible exceeds, the brief. 

• You are responsible for the presentation of results and findings to clients in a clear, engaging and highly professional way. 

• You keep up to date with new sustainability trends, legislation, and best practice and use the information gained to develop leading-edge services for our clients. 

• As a valued member of the Simply Sustainable Team, you contribute to our overall growth strategy and thought leadership. This may include the development of new products and services, as well as contributing to the ideas and development of our own communications content. 

• You build (client) relationships by being a joy to work with, one of our core values. You are service-oriented and make sure that communications are timely and appropriate and that information provided is accurate and detailed. 

• You are accountable for completing all administration and record keeping required for client project management and for our operational processes. You manage your own time to ensure the weekly resourcing targets have been achieved and accurately recorded on our resourcing system. 

• You contribute to the development and mentoring of interns, Graduate Consultant and/or Consultants in the team as and when required.
  

Experience:

• 3–year minimum experience of working on sustainability projects, ideally in a consultancy environment. 
• Strong experience in report development and data analysis, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
• Proven track record of practical hands-on experience of managing projects and delivering high quality work on time and on budget. 
• Passion for sustainability and a commitment to helping organisations achieve their sustainability goals.

Any additional relevant information:  

The roles will require you to be flexible and available to support clients in delivering top-quality work. The role may require travelling both inside and outside the UK and on occasions to be based at a client’s premises.
